MP congratulates adult ESOL learners in Riverside

Cardiff West MP, Kevin Brennan, congratulated a class of adults learning English in Riverside as he presented the students with their certificates.

The event was hosted by NAID who are working with ethnic minorities in improving the English skills of people and are holding courses in improving the food hygiene of people in the curry industry.
The ESOL (English For Speakers Of Other Languages) classes are held at the NAID Executive Centre in Clare Road and help people who do not speak English as their first language.
“Riverside is a multi-cultural community and it’s great schemes and organisations like this are helping to bring the community closer together,” said Kevin.
“It was great to speak to some of the students on a one to one level about any problems or issues I might be able to help them with. As the Member of Parliament for Cardiff West these classes are important as they help communication between myself and constituents that may have problems speaking English. I fully support ESOL and was therefore delighted to receive an invitation to present the students with their certificates and meet everyone involved with the scheme.”

Dilwar Ali, Secretary & Course Coordinator said:
“It is a great honour in working with NAID since 2001, I am pleased in taking a key role in this organisation and providing the training to all communities. I am also looking forward to do more with NAID for the community.”

Ana Miah, Deputy Executive of NAID said:
“I am very happy in being a part of NAID, working with all communities and being involved in various NAID activities. I am urging people to come forward with new ideas and continuing their generous support to NAID.”

Anwar Ali, Chief Executive of NAID said:
“I am delighted that The Minister for Educations, Skills, Apprenticeships and Consumer Affairs, Kevin Brennan MP was able to attend this ESOL award ceremony and thank them presenting the certificates to candidates. I would like to congratulate all candidates on their success, NAID will continue to work together for the benefit of all communities nationally and internationally.”
